Anyone who reads The Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle on a regular basis will know
that certain segments of the Jewish community
look upon Monica Lewinsky, who is Jewish, as another Esther, the Biblical
heroine who allegedly saved the Jewish people
living in the Persian Empire from destruction.
The comparison was made because Monica succeeded in making the
President of the United States - William Jefferson Clinton -absolutely
ineffectual in implementing U.S. foreign policy
with respect to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The Palestinians have accepted the U.S. peace proposal designed to bring a
measure of justice to the Palestinian people in the peace process. The Likud
gang of Zionists running Israel under
Netanyahu have no interest in dealing any justice to the Palestinians. They
have successfully thumbed their noses at the
American peace plan.
The Netanyahu gang has succeeded in defying the Clinton administration because
the President has been immobilized quite
effectively courtesy of Monica Lewinsky's availability for sexual liaisons with
him. The nearly $4 billion to Israel-a First World
country -continue to flow from the U.S. treasury without any diminution.
President Clinton, behaving as a thoughtless, indiscrete self-indulgent high
school adolescent, has made it impossible for him to make ANY policy initiative
that would carry any moral authority behind it-the retaliatory strikes against
Osama bin Laden to the contrary notwithstanding.
Thus Monica Lewinsky, with the aid of Ken Starr, and Clinton'sown stupidity have
made it imperative for Democrats, and other Americans who care about their
country, to insist upon President
Clinton's immediate resignation.
The U.S. does not need a "wounded" and "bleeding" president which can only bring
joy to Republicans and other reactionaries.

We are pleased to see the football results on the ASU Website and the
state and regional newspapers. We are very concerned that the results of
the Cross Country and Volleyball scores are not listed on the ASU
Website ( this data can be input directly from the university staff) or
the state and regional newspapers. We have quality athletes working hard
to represent our proud university. The results were not listed on the
national college black web network. We strongly request that your office
correct this injustice and treat all athletic sports program fairly
inorder that these young people will feel that their work has not gone
unoticed. Please let me know what course of action you plan to correct
this problem. Thank you for your cooperation.

While lip-service to the desire for peace on the part
of the people of British-occupied Ireland was made
by Prime Minister Blair and President Clinton, it
should not be forgotten that peace prevailed in the
northern six counties in 1968, a peace that lacked
one important element - justice.
There was no IRA in 1968. Then Catholics
decided to fight for an end to discrimination in
housing, employment and voting. They were met
with official violence culminating in the Bloody
Sunday massacre of January 30, 1972 in which a
British parachute regiment murdered fourteen
peaceful demonstrators in Derry. While this was
going on the approximately 4,000 Orange trium-
phalist parades were proceeding as scheduled to
inform Catholics of their "inferiority."
How sad that we heard nothing about the need to
put an end to the climate of bigotry and hatred that
fuels Unionist discrimination. The kind of injustice
made possible by the British presence in Ireland that
has been the real cause of the violence that has
persisted for the last thirty years.
Recent draconian measures to fight terrorism are
doomed to failure. As President Clinton said,
"Difficult, sometimes wrenching decisions lie ahead
but they must be made."
One of those decisions must be the eventual
withdrawal of British sovereignty from the northern
six counties of Ireland. Then, and only then will
peace have a chance, for then there will be peace
with justice.
